There are no other gites or guests on this property. the self contained converted barn, part of an old farmhouse, is situated in a quiet, secluded rural area of gascony, close to all amenities. we offer a relaxed holiday for the weary traveller who wishes to rest in a tranquil haven. it is ideal for 2 people, but a third person can be accommodated. beautiful views, with the pyrénées in the distance. there is plenty to do and glorious scenery abounds. the swimming pool and 1¼ acres of shady gardens are shared with the owners, who live on the premises. on the 1st floor the spacious lounge, has satellite tv, hi-fi unit, wooden beams, wood burner, dining table, comfortable armchairs and sofa plus a superb balcony overlooking the garden with the pyrénées in the distance. accommodation for an extra person could be provided on a folding bed. there is an en-suite twin bedded bedroom, on the ground floor plus a fully equipped galley kitchen with gas cooker/oven, microwave, toaster and refrigerator. the large 1¼ acre shady garden, complete with fish pond, and 7.5 metre pool, offers plenty of shade and get away places for complete privacy. b-b-q & garden furniture.

Fontrailles is in the gascony region lying between the pyrenées and the river gironde to the north. Gascony is the home of d’artagnan (of the three musketeers fame) and is althe local town of trie sur baïse offers all the basic requirements – bank atm, uk & international newspapers, a small supermarket, bakers, butchers and greengrocer are all situated around the pretty main square where a bustling market is held every tuesday. Many othfrom may onwards the town offers various attractions including a classical music weekend, antiques and night markets as well as the local fête in august with the infamous porcailhade and a week of entertainment; the local racecourse holds it’s annual meeting. Nearby mirande (25kms) has an international country and western week in mid july and marciac (34kms) hold an international jagolf, fishing, horse riding, tennis, canoeing, cycling, bird watching, painting and walking are among the many activities that can be enjoyed in the area.Zz festival, attracting well-known artistes, in early august. Er towns hold markets throughout the week.So a region which was long fought over by england and france.
